Ironically, I will not be in an office much this summer; instead, I’ve found myself with more free time to finally focus on bigger dreams and projects, like this newsletter — and its expansion onto TikTok!

My goal is to bring this newsletter to life on the platform, with the same elevated eye for style and approachable edit of pieces to shop, so it’s even easier to get dressed and feel put together in your everyday life. I cannot emphasize enough how much I appreciate your likes, saves, shares, and follows at this time (pretty please)! To start: a few transitional outfit ideas for business casual offices when the weather oscillates between unseasonably cool, uncomfortably warm, and, uh, undeniably apocalyptic.Â
☞ POPLIN SKIRT + SOFT SWEATER + LOAFERS
A poplin skirt will be essential for peak summer temperatures, but pairs well with a sweater while the weather is still tolerable (or the AC is suddenly blasting). Tie the sweater around your shoulders for a lunch break or after-hours outing.
☞ SUIT SEPARATES + BODYSUIT + FLATS
Oversized suiting feels most modern paired with this season’s must-have footwear: dainty ballet flats. As temperatures heat up, you can also ditch the blazer when stepping outside the office doors.
☞ SWEATER VEST + CARGO PANTS + LOAFERS
After pairing cargo pants with chunky sweaters all winter long, a lightweight sweater vest is an easy replacement for the summertime. Then, a polished pair of loafers pulls the oversized pieces together for the workplace.
☞ POPLIN SHIRT + CLASSIC JEANS + FLATS
It doesn’t get easier than a button up and jeans for summer, with ballet flats adding a trend-forward touch. I’m personally in the process of building out my button up collection, too, which make great summer Zoom tops when secretly paired with your biker shorts or breeziest WFH pants.
☞ SHELL TOP + PENCIL SKIRT + MULES
The bonus outfit I would’ve included on TikTok if The Frankie Shop skirt I had fit — but that’s where the newsletter comes in. A longer length reinvents the pencil skirt for present day, with cool mules replacing the classic pump it once called for. A fitted top and oversized jacket finish the look, for desk to dinner.
